“Extensive damage” has been exchanged for only a few bottles of grog.

The Todd Tavern bottle-O in the Red Centre fell victim yet again to another senseless ram raid, according to NT Police.

Northern Watch Commander Allan Milner said police CCTV operators spotted a group of unknown people ramming a car into the popular bottle shops roller door at 1.40am on Monday.

“They did extensive damage to the roller door and the counter and loss of stock that was stacked around the counter,” Commander Millner said.

“Stolen was a quantity of alcohol but they got in there fairly quickly and grabbed a few bottles and ran but they did some damage.”

Police say they believe the black 2009 Toyota RAV4, which had South Australian registration, was stolen.

NT News understands the incident marks the second time this year the Alice Springs CBD has been broken into.

“They made a mess, for the amount of bottles they ran off with … the amount of damage is unreal,” Commander Milner said.

“I feel sorry for them, they’ve been ram raided a few times now.”

The incident remains under investigation.
