‘Level six life form’: Convicted child abuser thrown from court after ‘sovereign citizen’ antics

A failed political candidate who identifies as a ‘sovereign living man’ was booted out of a court after a rant filled with bogus legal jargon.

A failed political candidate was escorted from a courtroom by security after ranting about bogus ‘sovereign citizen’ laws.

Joey Myer, 39, told the Maroochydore Magistrates Court he was answerable only to “ecclesiastical law” as he faced a charge of failing to comply with reporting.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist repeatedly asked Myer to confirm his identity for the court and to enter a plea to the charge, the Sunshine Coast Dailyreported.

But Myer refused to cooperate.

Going by the name “Jarreau”, he declared: “I won’t be needing any legal advice” before denying his identity.

“I’m not Mr Myer,” Myer said.

“Joey Myer is the birth certificate, I am not Joey Myer, and I appear by way of divine appearance occupying the office of executor for the estate of Joey Myer.

“This is a certified copy of Joey Myer brought before this maritime vessel that is Maroochydore Magistrates Court.

“I am Jarreau, I am a sovereign living man, level six life form with illuminated mind.”

Myer also informed the court that he was under the jurisdiction of “ecclesiastical law.” “Claiming the highest spirit jurisdiction known as ecclesiastical law,” Myer said.

“There will be no implied trust here today, and I will not be processed as a pauper in this matter.”

Magistrate Stjernqvist ordered Myer to leave the courtroom, and security was summoned to escort him outside.

Magistrate Stjernqvist informed the court that Myer would appear back in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 17, and a plea of not guilty had been entered on his behalf.

Myer was found guilty of 11 counts of indecently treating a child.

Myer was found guilty by a jury in 2021 of 11 counts of indecently treating a child under 16 and one count of rape.

Myer has since been acquitted on appeal of the rape charge, and the QLD Court of Appeal has reserved its decision on Myer’s appeal in respect of the other charges.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges during the trial.

He was sentenced in the Maroochydore District Court to eight years and six months in jail, with 787 days of pre-sentence custody considered as time served, but was released to appeal the convictions in the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Queensland Courts told news.com.au the Court of Appeal has not informed the registry as to when it will deliver judgment in the matter.

Myer ran as an independent political candidate for the seat of Fisher in the 2013 federal election.
