Blake Lively has reacted to her somewhat surprising inclusion in Time magazine’s list of its 100 Most Influential People of 2025.
“It’s an honor to be acknowledged on the @time 100 list for 2025,” Lively, 37, said in a social media statement after she was named to the coveted roll call of powerful people.
The accolade comes after a turbulent year caused by her lawsuit with It Ends with Us collaborator Justin Baldoni.
The Gossip Girl star was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, in the ‘Titans’ section alongside tennis legend Serena Williams, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, conservative podcaster Joe Rogan, Olympian Simone Biles, TV pioneer Lorne Michaels, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, and fashion powerhouse Miuccia Prada.
Lively received backlash online for the honour, with many questioning what she had done to deserve the recognition.
Spotify podcaster Zack Peter posted to X: “Blake Lively has been named one of TIME’S 100 Most Influential People of 2025... for a donation she made to the NAACP... in 2019. Can’t make this stuff up”.
Influencer Melanie King replied, in context, “A donation she made for her plantation wedding. Here are some of the slave cabins on the property for guests to enjoy and the cosplaying slavers that work there.”
This is the most egregious PR stunt Blake Lively has ever done. It's so offensive I thought it was satire. TIME Magazine said f-ck it and named Blake Lively one of the most influential of 2025 in the âTitanâ category as a CIVIL RIGHTS CHAMPION. Why? She and Ryan Reynolds donated⦠pic.twitter.com/7q00Synjzk

Another replied, “Oh she’s influential alright...when it comes to maliciously destroying an innocent man’s career. Takes a true narcissist to do that”.

magazine’s blurb written by International Energy Agency executive director Faith Birol.
He was named in the Pioneers category, alongside singer Myles Smith, Allison Sesso, of Undue Medical Debt, lawyer Cordelia Bähr and Nobel prize winner Demis Hassabis, to name a few.
