A notorious Mongols bikie boss has dialled into a Darwin Court over an eight-year investigation into an alleged bikie bashing.

Mongols bikie president Nick ‘The Knife’ Forbes is seeking more police evidence over an eight-year-old investigation into an alleged rival bikie nightclub bashing.

Nicholas John Forbes appeared via a telephone link to Darwin Local Court on Monday before Judge Alan Woodcock.

The Queensland-based Mongols bikie boss faces charges stemming from an eight-year-old investigation into an alleged rival bikie brawl in Darwin’s party district.

The 53-year-old was charged with aggravated assault and engaging in violent conduct for an alleged assault of a Hells Angels bikie rival at Discovery nightclub in 2014.

In a Monday hearing that lasted less than two minutes, Forbes’ lawyer Michael Gatenby asked for a three-week adjournment for additional disclosure from the Crown.

Mr Woodcock set a directions hearing date for November 21, with the Gold Coast-based bikie not required to attend if legally represented.

The latest hearing comes two weeks after the Supreme Court sent Forbes packing from the Territory.

The Mongols national president and expectant father was dramatically arrested at Darwin Airport earlier this month.

He was granted bail with a $25,000 bond and a promise to never return to the Territory outside required court appearances.

While his Territory matters continue to run, Forbes has appeared in Southport Magistrates Court charged with trafficking ice.

Forbes was arrested at Darwin Airport during the notorious gang’s national run, where about 150 Mongol members drove from Alice Springs to Darwin.

The 53-year-old expectant father told the NT Supreme Court the run was unrelated to his arrival in the Territory and he was there to resolve unfinished court matters before the birth of his next child.
