Man, 19, to face Darwin court after allegedly raping child under 10 in remote NT community

NT Police have charged a 19-year-old who allegedly raped a young relative in a remote Territory community.

A man will face court after allegedly raping one of his relatives – a child younger than 10-years-old.

Northern Territory Police alleged the 19-year-old man sexually assaulted the child on February 4 in a remote community in the northern region of the NT.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Taskforce, Criminal Investigation Branch and general duties arrested the man on February 5.

He was charged with raping a child under 10, and remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Local Court on February 10.
