Luck strikes: Toowoomba man takes out Mega Millions win

It seems good things come to those who wait after one local man who dreamt he would win money is now living the dream.

A Toowoomba man who dreamt he would win a Keno draw is now living the dream.

A Toowoomba man who dreamt he would win at Keno has turned his vision into a reality, after taking out the Mega Millions win.

Purchasing the winning entry in draw 874 on Monday, from Club Toowoomba on Hume St, the man said the exciting news was still sinking in.

The nine spot winning entry resulted in the anonymous winner walking away with $383,265.00, after he was notified on Tuesday.

“I went down to the pub yesterday like I usually do and then all of a sudden there was a big win in the venue … and it was me,” the anonymous winner said.

“I’ve been waiting for a win – I’ve dreamt about it over the last couple of weeks … I even told my wife that I was going to score a major prize soon, and she thought I was crazy.”

Planning to invest the money, the winning ticketholder said it will take the pressure off.

“We are all very excited, that’s for sure – this is our first big Keno win and we couldn’t be happier to see it go to the person it did,” Club Toowoomba general manager Kelly Cassidy said.

“Congratulations to him … we are all celebrating.”

During the previous financial year, Queenslander wins have won a combined total of more than $312.79.
