Dance and fitness have always been Casey Wruck’s two biggest passions, and now the Toowoomba instructor wants to share them with the world.

Working in the industry for more than a decade, Ms Wruck launched the 2023 season of her UJam Fitness classes on Saturday night, with about 20 participants attending.

Combining disco lights and beats from the 90s to now, the inclusive classes cater to everyone and truly embody the expression of “dance like nobody’s watching”.

“It’s a fun, social and unique way for people to exercise without even knowing it,” Ms Wruck said.

“We have such a great little community here – we actually call ourselves the UJam Fam Bam.

“To be able to offer such an encouraging, supportive and non-judgemental space makes me feel really accomplished as an instructor.”

Combining dance routines with hip-hop, RnB, jazz or Korean pop music, the former dancer said her personal favourite jam was “booty bouncing” along to Missy Elliott.

She said the sessions targeted the whole body, toned muscles, incorporated balance and offered both physical and mental benefits.

“It’s the most awesome feeling seeing (clients) let loose on the dance floor or smash a routine,” she said.

Ms Wruck, who runs the classes through her business Peach Bomb Fitness, said she was currently the only Toowoomba-based instructor who offered UJam Fitness classes.

And as Tik Tok trends continue to flood social media feeds, the Toowoomba woman believes the dance workouts are only set to increase in popularity.

The sessions are offered every Tuesday night from 6.15pm at the Centenary Heights State High School’s performing arts building.
