THE left down lane on the Toowoomba Range will be closed and traffic will be switched to the right lane from this Sunday.

THE left down lane on the Toowoomba Range will be closed and traffic will be switched to the right lane from this Sunday.
This will allow the eastbound lanes to be connected to a 300-metre bitumen side track, which will be opened next to the existing down lanes.
A section of the side track will be steeper than the existing down lanes.
Transport operators are requested to use only low gears when using the side track to ensure their safety and the safety of other motorists.
Toowoomba Range gets a native revitalisation
The realignment of the down lanes will make this section of the road straighter.
Two new emergency truck safety ramps will also be built off the eastbound lanes (one from the slow lane and one from the fast lane).
