Darwin basketball is in the midst of another enthralling season that’s seen some phenomenal individual performers put their name in lights.
From under-9s to masters, division eight to the championship, more than 3500 players have hit the courts this season across 11 clubs, all in pursuit of a taste of premiership success.
After running through every player in the competition, The NT News has compiled a list of the top performers from every grade in the DBA to date.
Eagles’ American recruit Kobe Powell has been a clear standout to date cutting the championship to bits with his ball skills.
The 5’9 guard is a NAIA Division 1 player who balled out in the ABA in the Seattle Mountaineers (30.7 pts a game), and with Port Macquarie in the NSW Waratah League (28.1 pts per game).
He’s currently averaging an insane 41.62 pts per game in Darwin through eight matches, producing an awe-inspiring highlight reel along the way.
Most notably, Powell demolished the DBA championship single game points record (50) as he drained 62 points in a 141-108 victory over league rivals Ellas Titans.
Elsewhere, Daymon Moyd has been lights out for Ellas Titans across the under-18s and junior men’s division.
The teenager has netted 668 points across both competitions, demonstrating his ability to be consistent no matter his surroundings.
