NT Police investigating after motorcyclist becomes 53rd road death for 2024

Investigations are under way after a motorcyclist was killed in a fatal road collision in Palmerston. Read the latest.

Emergency services are investigating after declaring a motorcyclist dead at the scene of a heavy collision in the Palmerston suburb of Moulden.

The collision involved a vehicle and motorcycle at the intersection of Chung Wah Terrace and Elrundie Avenue about 2.30pm Thursday.

St John Ambulance attempted CPR on the 56-year-old rider upon arrival, however he was sadly declared dead at the scene.

The 28-year-old driver in the other vehicle was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit has established a crime scene and is currently investigating the incident.

Diversions are in place and police have urged motorists to drive with caution or avoid the area if possible.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam of the incident is urged to contact Police on 131 444 and quote the reference number P24301158.

The lives lost on Territory roads for 2024 now stands at 53, up from 24 this time last year.
