LYNDALL and Mick McCormack are a couple passionate about a couple of things: live music of all genres and bringing it to the Darling Downs communities.
Proud of their country roots, APA Managing Director and CEO, Mick McCormack, a drummer himself, and his arts and music-loving wife Lyndall, recognise the economic and cultural importance of bringing a range of musicians to the area.
The couple have a long time passion for, and relationship with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
For the fourth year running, they will deliver the award-winning orchestra to the region for a free community performance.
The beautiful sounds of baroque will spill from the Empire Church Theatre tomorrow, before an enthusiastic audience - and tickets to the free concert have already been sold out.
"Being able to share the Brandenburg experience with people in regional areas, who would not otherwise have the opportunity, has been one of the highlights of our relationship with the orchestra," said Mr McCormack.
Toowoomba's Karen Pellow is incredibly grateful APA brings the Brandenburg to town each year.
Karen's daughters, Gabby (11) and Mikayla (9), are Brandenburg inspired violinists.
They have attended every performance over the last three years, and are excited about this year's concert too.
"These world class musicians are their idols, their motivation and without the support of the McCormacks, our girls would not have to opportunity experience artists of this calibre", Mrs Pellow said.
Being involved with and actively campaigning to bring a range of live music genres, to the Darling Downs is "an absolute joy" for Mick and Lyndall McCormack.
"We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and we want to share it with as many people as we can, and live music is a great way to do it." Mrs McCormack said.
