Adrian and Gail Wockner love nothing more than sitting in their garden with a cup or tea or feeding the Rainbow Lorikeets.
The pair moved to their Highfields property in 2010 and have been growing their stunning garden ever since.
Nominated by horticulturist Brian Sams, the couple’s garden is one of four selected for the Toowoomba Exhibition Gardens.
“We really are collectors of rare and endangered plants, and we’re members of the Queensland Native Plant group,” Ms Wockner said.
“While our flowers are predominantly natives, we believe it’s a country garden in the city.”
Specialising in grevillea and eremophila plants, bright colours fill the garden throughout springtime.
Featuring a wide range of different areas to explore across three levels, there is a rainforest, fairy garden and campfire section, as well as a dry creek bed.
All four exhibition gardens charge an entry fee with all proceeds raised donated to the charity of their choice.
And for the third time, the husband and wife have selected RACQ LifeFlight South West.
“I worked as a nurse in Dalby, so I know how important the work of rescue chopper is,” Ms Wockner said.
The Toowoomba Exhibition Gardens are open from September 17 to 26, between 9am and 5pm.
Entry to all four gardens is $12 or $5 each.
