The hunt to find Toowoomba’s Most Frugal Bachelor is on but the question is – will the Garden City accept this rose?

Based off the Australian reality television series that has grown in popularity over nine seasons, two businesses have launched a campaign to find the region’s Most Frugal Bachelor.

Digital marketing business Social Palms and accounting practice ITP have selected six Toowoomba blokes to battle it out for the ultimate title.

All contenders will take part in a series of money-related challenges with each episode being filmed and aired on social media.

And while the identities of the bachelors are not yet clear, ITP Toowoomba general manager Victoria Haines said all six suitors were well-known.

“We’re looking for the Most Frugal Bachelor, but we also wanted to find people with really incredible stories, and we’re so pleased to say that we’ve done that,” Ms Haines said.

“I would say they will be recognised locally but some on a national scale too.”

Social Palms director Ben Yong said while it would be an entertaining campaign, it had also launched alongside the start of the new financial year.

“We’re keeping the challenges a surprise for now, but one will see a bachelor take a prominent model out on a date with a budget of just $30,” Mr Yong said.

“Councillor James O’Shea will host the series, so he’ll be Toowoomba’s Osher Gunsberg.”

Shifting through more than 200 nominations, the two businesses selected the six suitors who will be revealed in the coming weeks. Public voting will decide the winner.
