She comes from a long line of creatives and entrepreneurs, and now one young go-getter has gone out on her own.
After helping her parents start their own small business Little Desert Farms, specialising in eco-friendly and handmade products, Drew Wessling, 21, decided to start her own venture.
Launching her business Aspen Candles this week, Ms Wessling said her products were handmade from all natural ingredients and were soy-based.
Six fragrances are currently available with salted caramel, mint mojito and passionfruit and paw paw already proving to be in high demand.
“I wanted to create fragrances that would create a cosy and homely feel or remind people of some of their favourite memories,” Ms Wessling said.
“The mint mojito fragrance is really tropical so it makes you feel like you’re on a beach holiday, the fig and pear smells like Christmas and I personally love the freesia and red berry because it reminds me of my grandparent’s garden.”
Ms Wessling, who relocated from Chinchilla to Toowoomba last year to start studying primary education at UniSQ, said she hoped her side hustle would assist financially while studying at university.
Each candle has a suggested 30-hour-long burning time.
