Movie madness continues to sweep the Gold Coast, with legendary rapper and actor Ice-T spotted heading to the set of Zombie Plane.

The American star, known for his pioneering work in gangsta rap and his long-running role as Detective Odafin Tutuola in ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’, was spotted boarding a boat at Marina Mirage on Tuesday morning as filming for the Queensland production heads into its final days.

Ice-T was joined by Australian actor Stephen Curry and high profile media personality Kyle Sandilands as the trio wrap up filming on Wednesday.

Directed by Lav Bodnaruk and Mike Mier, the film also follows Vanilla Ice, Sophie Monk, Chuck Norris, Amy Shark, Natalie Bassingwaithe and Teresa Liane along with Sir Bob Geldof, Brian Austin Green, Cody Simpson, John Jarratt, Matt Okine, Alex Fleri, Victoria Fleri and Dan Ewing as they battle Zombies on a flight from Sydney to LA.

At the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards at HOTA in February, Sophie Monk told the Bulletin she was thrilled to be part of the production.

“I was like please let me in,” she said.

“I got ADD and I read the whole script in one go – it’s fun, silly and it’s right down my alley.”

In terms of what people can expect she said: “It’s just fun – the type of movie I can watch and just chill out to.”

Filmed primarily on the Gold Coast, the movie will be released by Australian distributor Radioactive Pictures later this year.

The sighting comes just a week after filming for Hollywood production Runner, starring Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson, wrapped up in Labrador last week.
