A man and a woman have been charged with a number of offences after a chemist was allegedly broken into on the Gold Coast.

Police were called to a Chempro Chemists outlet on Grice Ave in Paradise Point after it was allegedly rammed by a Range Rover around 1.30am on Thursday.

Police allege the vehicle used was stolen from a Helensvale address between 2.30pm on October 16 and 1.30am on October 17.

A police spokesperson said officers were on scene within minutes of the alleged incident and took a 25-year-old woman into custody, while a man allegedly fled.

Paramedics assessed the woman – who had suffered minor injuries – but said she did not need to be taken to hospital.

At about 10.45am police arrested a 20-year-old man from Southport in connection with the incident.

He has since been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and break and enter offences. He was refused police bail and is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.

The woman, who is from Coolangatta, has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and three counts of offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons.

She is due to appear in court at Southport on November 11.
