A reliable hairdresser is worth their weight in gold, so we’re on the hunt to find the best one
After hundreds of nominations we can reveal 55 finalists — now it is up to Gold Coasters to crown their favourite.
Last year, the title was taken by Brooke Wood who works seven days a week, wakes up at 4am and has a never-ending ‘to do’ list.
Ms Wood opened her own salon, BW Hair Studio in Chevron Island, three years ago.
However, she has a lot of competition to retain the title of the Gold Coast’s best hairdresser.
Resident Jenn McLean nominated Hair Rumours in Labrador for their professionalism and personality.
“I drive two and a half hours every six weeks to see her with my daughter,” she said.
“I have been going to her for 23+ years and I won’t let anyone else touch my hair.”
Susie Ayres said Monique from Victor and Lane Hair in Carrara was hard to beat.
“She has been creating magic on my hair for close to eight years,” she said.
“She’s taken me from balayage to brunette, to super blonde and back to brunette. All while keeping my hair healthy.”
