Two teenagers have been charged over an alleged restaurant rampage early in the new year across the Gold Coast in which four businesses were targeted in one night.

Police alleged two offenders wearing masks and gloves were caught on CCTV smashing their into an Indian restaurant on Reserve Rd, Upper Coomera about midnight on January 7.

A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said a fridge and dining table inside the business were damaged before the pair left empty-handed. About three hours later, the same offenders were allegedly caught on CCTV breaking into Cafe Two on nearby Rose Valley Dr. The QPS spokesman said the offenders checked a cash register for money and grabbed a soft drink from a fridge before leaving.

About 10 minutes later they then allegedly targeted Sushi Train Oxenford on Cottonwood Place, again leaving a trail of damage.

About about 4am the pair were seen kicking in the front doors to a Subway restaurant on Eggersdorf Rd, Ormeau. Police allege they attempted to open the safe, and when unsuccessful, they took an empty cash register.

Following investigations police have charged a 16-year-old boy from Park Ridge, near Logan, with six counts of enter premises and commit, and one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle and possess tainted property.

He’ll face Ipswich Childrens Court on April 28.

While a 16-year-old boy from Ellen Grove, southwest of Brisbane, has also been charged with three counts of enter premises and commit, and two counts of attempted enter premises with intent. He’ll face Ipswich Childrens Court on Monday.
