Australian media personality Abbie Chatfield has used her Gold Coast tour stop to reignite her “beef” with Mayor Tom Tate.
Chatfield performed her “hometown show” at The Star Gold Coast on Thursday, part of her Trauma Dump Tour Goes Regional series.
“I hate Tom Tate,” she said.
While on the Gold Coast she dedicated a section of the show to the feud, titled Roasted by Tom Tate.
“He got wind of (the video),” he said.
“So now he’s beefing with me.”
Chatfield played a clip in which Gold Coast Bulletin editor Ryan Keen questioned Mr Tate about her initial comments.
“Abbie Chatfield says she has hated you since you became mayor and says you’ve turned the Gold Coast into a cold shopping centre and the development and construction is crazy across the city,” Mr Keen said.
“First up, Abbie who?”, Mr Tate replied.
“Is that a road in England? If it is, it’s probably a one-way.”
Chatfield paused the video to comment: “How does that level of intellect run the Gold Coast”.
“You got me Tom Tate.”
While Chatfield had a few more barbs for the city’s mayor she spent most of her performance deep diving into three of her worst dating stories.
They included being given chlamydia and gonorrhoea by her first boyfriend, and being asked if she wanted to see another man’s scalpel collection so he could make her bleed.
Chatfield said the experiences had not affected her until she recently went through an “abusive relationship so severe now all my past traumas are coming out through PTSD symptoms”.
She said her boyfriend — one-half of Peking Duk duo Adam Hyde — made her believe love was real again.
“These millions of little pin pricks of trauma and toxicity have made it really hard to get into and ease into a healthy relationship,” she said.
Chatfield devoted a section of her show to helping people in the crowd who could be going through similar domestic violence situations, finding “reasons to dump them”.
