1. The Bennies take Bone Idol
Psychedelic rock band The Bennies will hit the stage of Bone Idol on Ruthven St Saturday night with special guests Slim Krusty and Grace Drummond from 7pm. Get your tickets at oztix.com.au.
2. World Environment Day
Head down to the popular Lake Annand Park for a free and fun festival on Sunday from 10am to 4pm to celebrate the United Nations World Environment Day.
3. Toowoomba Arms, Collectable, and Military Fair
Collectors unite for a historical weekend at the Toowoomba Showgrounds with antique finds from firearms, books and furniture on offer on Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sunday from 9am to 1pm. Entry fee is $10 for adults with children under 15 free.
4. Sunflower fields
Grab your friends and family and take a trip out to Cambooya to the magnificent Warraba sunflower fields at 439 McNallys Rd, Cambooya with session on Saturday and Sunday. Entry fee of $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 6-17. For more information head to the Warraba Sunflowers Facebook page.
5. Toowoomba and Darling Downs Record Fair
Vinyl fans rejoice as sellers gather at Drayton Memorial Hall located at 39 Brisbane St on Saturday from 9am, with free entry to the event. Don’t miss out on the $1 lucky vinyl dip and raffle draw
6. Catch a movie
If you’re in the mood for a good laugh or an action fanatic, why not book a ticket to see the latest flicks at Event Cinemas with new releases including Lilo and Stitch and Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.
7. Bjorn Again: Waterloo Anniversary Tour
Here we go again! The Abba tribute band will hit the Empire Theatre’s stage on Saturday night for a journey through the beloved bands classic hits. Tickets can be purchased at empiretheatre.com.au.
8. Queensland Police Community Safety and Career Expo
Looking for a career change? Then head down to the TAFE oval on Saturday between 9am and noon for a free family-friendly event with local police and emergency services to explore exciting pathways into policing and other first-responder careers. Visitors will get the chance to see cutting edge equipment and vehicles up close as well as interactive displays from specialist police units.
9. Toowoomba Canary Club event
Bird lovers will descend on Centenary Heights School Hall on Sunday from 10am for the Toowoomba Canary Club’s annual show, with free entry and a raffle draw.
10. Markets
Saturday: Toowoomba Farmers’ Market is as 27 Lindsay St, East Toowoomba (near the windmills at Cobb Co Museum) from 7am to 12pm, Highfields Cultural Centre Twilight Markets from 3pm to 8pm, Goombungee Market and Car Boot Sale is at Goombugee Hall located at 2 King St from 8am to noon.
Sunday: the Toowoomba PCYC Market is at 219 James St from 7am to 12.30pm.
