From carols to markets: Where to find Christmas cheer around Toowoomba

Christmas magic arrives across Toowoomba this weekend. Here’s your comprehensive guide to weekend fun.

As Christmas approaches, so too the amazing festive themed events happening throughout the great region.

See the wonderful things that can be enjoyed this weekend.

1. Toowoomba Mayoral Carols by Candlelight

The Triple M Mayoral Carols by Candlelight is planned to be full of festive cheer and community spirit for all families to enjoy. Set at Queens Park on Sunday, there will be food stalls, kids rides and live pre-show entertainment set from 4pm before the main performances kick off at 6pm.

2. A Very Elvis Christmas concert

Tristan James and Anthony Fenech are set to perform at The Empire Theatre with captivating renditions of “The Kings” greatest hits. They are performing on Saturday from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Limited bookings are available.

3. Toowoomba Christmas Wonderland

Experience the gorgeous christmas lights displayed at Queens Park Botanic Gardens all throughout the season until Christmas Eve. A gold coin donation will ensure ice cream, drinks and fun for the whole family.

4. Christmas Fun Day at the Withcott Hotel

The Withcott Hotel have planned a Christmas Fun Day on Saturday with games, water slides, face-painting, crafts and a visit from santa. Entrance is free with the option to purchase a buffet lunch. The event starts at 11am.

5. Christmas By The Creek

Christmas festivities are set to kick off in the Lockyer Valley with markets, music, gift wrapping and photos with santa. The event is planned for 3pm to 7pm at Ma Ma Creek Community Hall and Grounds. Entrance is free.

6. Christmas at Aberfeldy Barn

Aberfeldy Barn will host markets on Sunday with a mini eat street and live music. Entrance fee is a gold coin and will run from 3pm to 7pm.

7. Clifton Christmas Markets

Christmas markets are happening on King Street in Clifton with over 30 stalls to help with the gift giving season. The markets will be held on Saturday from 8am to 12pm.

8. Millmerran Community Markets

Markets are set to happen on Saturday at Millmerran Lions Park with a wide range of food, plants and gifts available. The markets will run from 8am to 1pm.

9. Lilyvale Flower Farm

Head down to Lilyvale Flower Farm to pick your own sunflowers before the season ends. The farm will be open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 12pm to 6pm on Sunday.

10. Festive Vibes Twilight Market

Over 100 market stalls are prepared for the Festive Vibes Twilight Market at the Founders Pavilion at the Toowoomba Showgrounds. Head down from 3pm to 8pm to to experience face-painting, food trucks, a live DJ and a special visit from Santa.
