Thousands expected as Toowoomba’s beloved carols event returns this Sunday

Toowoomba’s beloved 71-year carols tradition returns to Queens Park this Sunday, with over 12,000 people expected to gather for the free community celebration.

Toowoomba’s cherished Triple M Mayoral Carols by Candlelight tradition lights up Queens Park this Sunday, marking its 71st anniversary.

What began in the 1950s is now a massive, free celebration, drawing over 12,000 attendees to Frog’s Hollow.

The event is a testament to extraordinary local spirit, relying entirely on generous volunteers and businesses, according to long-time Production Manager Jim Aspromourgos.

Food trucks begin serving at 4 pm, with carols starting at 6 pm, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display at 8 pm. This year, the event also features “Bus It Free!” shuttle transport, ensuring a safe and memorable evening for all ages.
