VICTORIA the camel, after the sale of her long-term home, is looking for a new one.
It's just another day in the life of a real estate agent for Blackbird and Finch principal Simone Finch, who said she was trying to find a new residence for Victoria after her current home went under contract, and the new owners couldn't keep her.
After her mate died 2-3 years ago and having had free reign of the 100 acre property since then, Victoria is "quite flighty" and "difficult to catch".
Ms Finch said there were no ramps or holding yards, "so whoever gets her needs to be able to have a portable yard and that sort of thing".
"I'm trying to save her. A lot of people have said 'we'll take her', but they've never had camels. She really has to go to a home that has had camels before," she said.
"I have had many offers from people wanting to take her but the main problem is getting the right person to handle her, not stress her out and will look after her."
Ms Finch took to Facebook the other day to post about Victoria's plight, which has so far generated 300+ comments and more than 100 shares.
"We hope to find her new forever home next week and move her within 30 days," she said.
