Foggy and wet conditions contribute to crashes

A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries after a shocking Toowoomba crash, with the Forensic Crash Unit investigating the cause.

Initial investigations suggest the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree at 2.15pm Friday.

Police believe a 34-year-old woman from Holland Park was driving a white 2007 Toyota Hiace van and travelling north via Ruthven St in Kearneys Spring when the crash occurred.

The woman sustained minor injuries, while her passenger, a 64-year-old Nimbin man, sustained serious injuries.

Both patients were transported to Toowoomba Hospital.

The vehicle has Queensland number plates 916DG5, roof racks and solar panels on top, a silver nudge bar on the front and a rear window with a white covering.

Police are seeking public assistance and witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage are urged to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police are also interested in footage showing movement of the vehicle in the lead-up to the crash between 1.30pm and 2.15pm.
