SATURDAY'S inclement weather was a boon for visitors to the House and Land Expo which was held under cover in the Harvey Norman car park ensuring patrons kept dry.
For first home buyers like Steven Dalamaras and Rebekah Atkinson, the expo proved a fruitful information gathering experience.
"We're just coming along to see all of the things that are available in the Toowoomba region in terms of buying and building a new house," Mr Dalamaras said.
"I've come along to figure out if I'm building or if I'm going to stick with established houses and see what everybody's got to offer.
"I've been looking around all of Toowoomba figuring out if buying a block of land and building a house is best for us."
Mr Dalamaras said expos such as this were beneficial for those looking to build or buy a home as there were experts in the various fields on hand to answer questions and help them plan to buy or build.
"Having everybody in one tent in this car park here is wonderful, just being able to speak to everyone at the same time," he said.
"It has been helpful and I've had a couple of questions that I came here with answered and it's definitely tilted me towards building a place."
Hundreds of people like Mr Dalamaras and Ms Atkinson filed through the Toowoomba House and Land Expo which had on hand builders, lenders, appliance demonstrators and other home goods providers to answer questions and offer advice on everything from buying a block of land to building a house from scratch.
