AN AUSTRIAN film crew will visit Wellcamp Airport today to shoot a documentary about Wagners' use of composite fibre technology.

The science and technology program will give a particular focus to the Earth Friendly Concrete invented by Wagners - a concrete which produces up to 90 per cent less carbon dioxide emissions than traditional cement.

The product was recently used in the construction of a footbridge at Clewley Park detention basin, which was built wide enough to accommodate ambulances that may need quick access to the nearby Toowoomba Hospital.

Wagners director Denis Wagner said construction of the airport was progressing well, with another milestone on the horizon.

The first few main floor slabs of the airport terminal have been poured and placed.

More than 80 will be laid to accommodate the terminal.

"We're not doing too much in this rain, but it's good for the district so I'm pleased we're getting it," Mr Wagner said.

"Next week we will start laying the final gravel on the runway.

"In the next fortnight, we will hopefully put down the first bitumen seal."
