A prominent Toowoomba developer has been approved to create nearly 150 new lots in a fast-growing community.
Ian Knox, acting as applicant Wirraglen Holdings Pty Ltd, was given the green light this month by the Toowoomba Regional Council to subdivide two large parcels of land worth 38 hectares in both Highfields and Kleinton into 148 residential allotments over eight stages.
The lots will have an average size of about 750 sqm, with some as large as 1178 sqm.
There will also be four lots allocated for drainage, while another parcel will be dedicated for a sewer pump station.
Council planning officer Jayden Forbes-Mitchell said the development would be accessed from Kleinton Roads via two new feeder roads.
“A secondary connection to the proposed subdivision to the north is proposed via an extension of Leopard Ash Road,” he wrote in his assessment report.
“An internal circulating road network is proposed, with provision made for future road connections to be provided to the east for any new development on (the) balance lot.
“A local recreation park is proposed to service the development.
“The subdivision is proposed to be undertaken in eight stages, however stages are able to be completed in a non-sequential order.”
Mr Forbes-Mitchell approved the application, attaching more than 140 conditions for Mr Knox to follow.
The lots will still need to be sealed by the council in a subsequent step before they can sold.
