NT artists have put the Northern Territory on the map in the US with a vibrant mural bringing new colour to Venice Beach in Los Angeles.

Jason and Trent Lee joined forces with LA-based artist Ryan Yanoe to splash a realistic scenery filled with desert roses, kangaroos, sunsets, and native tree across Abbot Kinney Blvd.

It comes as part of a partnership between Tourism NT, TripAdvisor, and the Darwin Street Art Festival in an effort to lure more visitors to the Top End.

Tourism NT spokesman Tony Quarmby said the campaign was a celebration of the NT’s “essence and diversity”.

“The mural has already generated widespread interest from LA locals as well as an increased intent to travel to and plan their next adventure in the Northern Territory,” he said.

The mural was unveiled on October 1.

DSAF spokesman Favid Collins said the Territory artists had been a part of the festival on local turf for several years and it was exciting to see their work reach international shores.

“The mural is in a prime location and we received great feedback from the general public,” Mr Collins said.

“The opportunity for the Darwin Street Art Festival to collaborate with artists in LA and share the messages of the Northern Territory has been huge for us.”
