FROM caring for cats whose owner was injured in a car crash to catching speedsters travelling at 160kmh on a major highway, the region's police have been busy.
Cat carers
WHEN a woman, 63, was injured in a traffic crash last month, the cat she had been travelling with was cared for by police while she underwent treatment in hospital.
Dalby police were called to the Moonie Highway crash about 9.30am on November 27 where the Glenwood woman rolled her vehicle.
She was taken to Dalby Hospital and later released with minor injuries.
The cat was not injured.
High speed
A TEENAGE driver caught travelling 160km/h on the Warrego Highway at Macalister has lost his licence for six months.
Dalby police intercepted the Miami man, 18, about 3.20pm on November 25.
He was issued a $1177 fine for the high-end speeding offence and lost his licence on the spot.
Evasive actions
POLICE were forced to take evasive action to avoid crashing into a man, 61, who was driving a car while more than four times over the legal alcohol limit.
Dalby police patrolling Blaxland Road about 9pm on November 30 saw the car driving on the wrong side of the road and had to swerve to avoid it.
The Dalby man allegedly blew 0.222 per cent and is due to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on December 19, on driving UIL, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and other offences.
Motorbike theft
A BOY, 15, who stole a motorbike which was later returned by another boy has been dealt with as a juvenile.
Dalby police received a report the juvenile was spotted stealing the motorbike from a Palmer Street address about 5pm on November 25.
Another child returned it later that day, police said. Police said the offender was located and dealt with under the Youth Justices Act.
Dangerous drive
A YOUNG driver who did a burnout in a driveway has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after the skid was reported to police.
The complaint was made to police about 7.15am on November 28 when a white Mitsubishi sedan driven by a Lotus Creek man, 18, did a burn-out and handbrake skid on a Condamine Street driveway.
Wilful damage
A MAN, 32, caught damaging a Rayner Street property about 3.50pm on November 29 will appear in court later this month charged with wilful damage relating to the alleged incident.
