A childcare company has revealed its plans for a new centre for a leafy Toowoomba suburb to keep pace of the demand for services in the Garden City.
Plans were lodged for the new 109-space centre on South Street in Rangeville with the Toowoomba Regional Council earlier this month.
The two-storey centre will be located across two residential lots opposite Rangeville State School.
According to the planning report by Property Projects Australia, the centre would be operated by Only About Kids, which currently has three other locations in Toowoomba.
“The proposal involves the establishment of a two-storey childcare centre, which accommodates 109 places,” the report said.
“The design provides 32 on-site and covered carparking spaces within an under croft, accessed via a single crossover to South Street.
“Also located at ground level are two activity rooms, outdoor play spaces, associated reception, amenities, service and staff areas.
“The first level provides three additional activity spaces and associated amenities, with direct access to a large, north-facing, outdoor play area.”
The centre is planned to operate between 6am and 7pm.
Reports were also submitted relating to civil engineering, traffic noise and other impacts.
There are currently about half a dozen childcare centres that service the Rangeville, Centenary Heights and Middle Ridge areas.
The council has yet to respond to the application.
