A breeder of Australian bulldogs and poodles has applied to Toowoomba Regional Council to build a new kennel.
Jagdogs is proposing to build a new kennel including puppy and lactating mother’s room, yard area, kennels, walkways, and fenced area, on rural land at Greenmount-Hirstvale Rd, Hirstglen.
According to the development application lodged with the council, “a show cause notice has been issued as the applicants were operating the kennels without approval from the council to do so”.
The proposed days of operation are seven days a week, with 24/7 hours of operation.
Documents lodged with the council state there would be an average of five visitors per month, depending on when a litter is for sale.
