COUNCIL has opened the re-configured Nelson/Ramsay Sts intersection and cycleway project to traffic ahead of schedule and on budget.

COUNCIL has opened the re-configured Nelson/Ramsay Sts intersection and cycleway project to traffic ahead of schedule and on budget.

Infrastructure Committee chair Cr Carol Taylor said the $872,000 project, including a state government contribution of $236,000,  was finished a week ahead of the scheduled completion date.

"The work delivers major road safety improvements for motorists and cyclists along these busy streets," Cr Taylor said.

"Council thanks all motorists and pedestrians for their patience during the construction phase."
