TOOWOOMBA Regional Council has voted to change the time of its ordinary meetings after Mayor Paul Antonio acknowledged plans to encourage more people into the public gallery had not worked.

The meetings had been held at 4pm on the third Tuesday of every month in the hope people would be able to attend after work.

Cr Anne Glasheen moved the time be changed to 10am on the third Tuesday of each month from January next year.

"It hasn't worked; there is no question about that," Cr Antonio said.
