Toowoomba activist Thomas Coyne to be honoured with tribute at World Environment Day event

Dedicated environmental and marriage equality activist Thomas Coyne will be honoured at a special event in Toowoomba.

The life of dedicated Greens activist Thomas Coyne will be honoured at the annual Toowoomba World Environment Day next month.

The event at Annand Park on June 6 from 10am, named the Thomas Coyne Memorial World Enviornment Day, will feature a number of stalls from environmental and conservation groups, including the Greens, Sea Shepherd, Vegans in Toowoomba and more.

There will also be a number of musical acts, while speakers will deliver a eulogy on Mr Coyne and the issues he cared about.

Mr Coyne was killed when his car crashed near Allora on April 12.

“Thomas was an environmental activist, a campaigner for marriage equality and a disability advocate,” committee secretary Neil Riethmuller said.
