Toowoomba’s newest night bar opened to keen and curious crowds at the weekend.

Bodega Bar in the Walton Stores proved popular with the first nighters on Friday night and enjoyed strong support across the weekend.

The brainchild of Todd Farr, the bar’s decor and live music proved the talking point among early patrons.

“It’s a speak-easy good time bar,” was how Mr Farr described his Bodega Bar.

“We’re featuring and supporting local musical talent and from Thursday to Sunday we have live music.

“Wednesday nights we have musical bingo which is very different from the usual bingo.”

The bar opens from 5pm each day from Wednesday to Sunday and soon will be opening from 3pm on Sundays.

The live music takes in all genres including rock, pop, funk, punk, jazz and the full spectrum of music platforms.

“It’s early days yet,” Mr Farr said.

“But it went really well at the weekend.”
