A NEW bar in Toowoomba is offering an extensive cocktail menu with about 160 different concoctions.
Santé Cocktail Bar opened last week and was the brainchild of partners Alex Percy and Loic Mouchelin.
"I was a cocktail bartender in London, Loic was from France, and we met working in that cocktail bar," Ms Percy said.
"We moved back here a few years ago when my visa ran out. We've been trying to open a bar for a while."
The couple also run a syrup and event company called W6.
"We've been doing that for a few years, that was fun, but the long term plan was always our own bar," Ms Percy said.
Santé is located at 14 Duggan St, in the space formerly occupied by The Chelsea Bar, which closed at the same time as The Florence.
"We've revamped the space a bit," Ms Percy said.
"It's just the perfect space, 40m squared, it's tucked away in a cosy spot. Everyone that's come in so far has told us it feels like home.
"And that's a very French attitude, every business is an extension of your house."
The business has also embraced the local hospitality industry, hosting a special "hospo night" on Monday nights.
"There is a great little hospitality industry in Toowoomba, but there isn't really anywhere for hospo workers to hang out on quiet nights," Ms Percy said.
