IT MAY not have been a beer hall in Munich but for lovers of German food and ale the Garden City’s Oktoberfest celebration was the next best thing.
Toowoomba’s 4 Brothers Brewing and Konig’s Biergarten partnered on Saturday to deliver the ultimate Oktoberfest event.
For Nathan Price, the event was a good excuse to get dressed up for the occasion and embrace the Oktoberfest tradition.
“I went online and found a costume shop that sold lederhosens to get in the spirit of the celebration,” he said.
“This is my first time doing something like this, and it was a really good afternoon and night considering this was the first time they’ve held an Oktoberfest.
“It would be really good to experience the real thing, I want to get to Munich and do the real thing one day.
“It’s certainly on the bucket list.”
Mr Price said he hoped the event would become an annual feature.
