THE one thing that's on Georgia Ryan's mind is how many sleeps until Christmas.
The five-year-old and her brother Lochie can't wait to rip into their Christmas presents in 24 sleeps time.
Georgia and Ryan's aunt Renee Gilmour said her niece and nephew and her three-year-old daughter Phoebe got quite excited every time they drove past the large Christmas tree in the Toowoomba CBD, on the corner of Ruthven and Margaret St.
"They love Christmas," she said.
The Christmas tree in the CBD is just the start of the Christmas festivities in Toowoomba this year.
On December 6 at 6.30pm the Toowoomba Regional Council will officially begin to celebrate the holiday and Mayor Paul Antonio will press the big red button to light up the decorated tree.
TRC councillor Geoff McDonald said the council had "ramped up" the decorations this year so it would be like it used to be many years ago with all the shop windows dressed up for the holiday season.
"We hope it will happen for years to come," he said.
