Child arrested after allegedly trespassing in Rona Glynn Preschool, Alice Springs

A child has been arrested after they allegedly trespassed in a preschool and threatened a teacher.

An NT Police spokesman said a group of six children entered Rona Glynn Preschool on Winnecke Avenue in the Alice Springs suburb of East Side about 3.50pm Wednesday.

The spokesman said the group allegedly approached a teacher and asked where her car and keys were, but fled when two other teachers arrived.

They said one of the children had been arrested and released into the care of a responsible adult, while the remaining group members were on the run from police.

The spokesman alleged the group had also tried to break into cars at a Mills St residence earlier in the day.

He said police were calling on the public to provide any information in relation to the incident.

The spokesman urged the community to contact police on 131 444, quoting reference NTP2400072267.

The Department of Education has been contacted for comment.
