Lovers of refreshing brews will be over the moon, with one beer festival going ahead this weekend.

While events around the state have been cancelled as a result of Covid-19, one Toowoomba brewery hasn’t tapped out.

Volcanic Brewing owners Pete and Toni Burton said their Independent Craft Beer Festival will be going ahead and it’s all for a great cause.

“We try to fundraise for a charity every time we host a function,” Ms Burton said.

“This event will be raising money for (Robyn McCosker), who is participating in the 2021 Endeavour Foundation Rally.

“She will be so appreciative of the money raised for people living with disabilities.”

Along with their own drop, the pair will be showcasing beverages from five breweries that are part of the Independent Brewers Association.

“It’s all about supporting independent breweries,” Mr Burton said.

“We’re all very passionate about our independence and being part of the IBA.”

Ensuring the event is safe for the community to attend, the couple said they have a Covid-19-safe plan in place.

The event will have live entertainment all day as well as food vendors Blue Bird Kitchen and Smokehouse, Hot Slice Woodfired Pizza and the Popup Chef.

The Independent Craft Beer Festival will be at Volcanic Brewing at 161 James St, on Saturday from midday to 10pm.

Entry is a gold coin donation.
