A WOMAN in her 80s is recovering from a serious chest injury after the car she was travelling in rolled.

Initial reports suggest the vehicle was travelling through Rangeville at about 4.45pm Thursday.

The driver lost control near the intersection of Burke St and Turnbull St, rolling the vehicle and colliding with a power pole.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said three rescue crews were called to the scene.

They used the jaws of life to cut the two occupants free.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the woman for a serious chest injury and a man, aged in his 30s, for pelvic and chest injuries.

Both required hospitalisations.

Officers from the Queensland Police Service Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the incident.
