Treat yourself to the unique collection of hits by Powderfinger, Gladys Moncrieff, Savage Garden and Kate Miller-Heidke at a must-see performance at the Empire Theatre.
With stunning performances by Jess Hitchcock, Irena Lysiuk and Marcus Corowa, Lady Sings the Maroons tells stories about the art of songwriting and celebrates some of Australia’s most renowned talent.
Director Laura Hansford said the show would make the state of Queensland proud.
“My Queensland, your Queensland and the next person’s Queensland are vastly different
things, and that’s reflected in the music that’s come out of this state,” she said.
“On this tour we are debuting a show that sings about the diversity of this state and its people as we try to capture our Queensland.”
The production was created by Opera Queensland chief executive officer and artistic director Patrick Nolan.
Musical director Luke Volker will also be performing on keys on the night.
Lady Sings the Maroons will be at the Empire Theatre on Wednesday, June 7 at 7.30pm.
