$8m Mission Beach property to go under the hammer

A stunning and secluded beach getaway that can host 16 people and rents for $2950 per night is up for sale. See the pictures.

What is perhaps the ultimate beach house in Far North Queensland will go under the hammer on August 22 and it isn’t even in Port Douglas.

Villa BE, in the exclusive Lugger’s Bay gated community at South Mission Beach last sold, to Cotton On retail clothing chain part owner Ash Hardwick and wife Samantha, in 2021, for $8m.

The couple also outlaid a reported $5m for the 68ha Lugger Bay freehold site known as the Tam O’Shanter headland.

Far North luxury property doyen Barbara Wolveridge of Sotheby’s is marketing the spectacular estate at Lot 8, 73 Explorers Drive.

The house has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, 12 car parks and can host up to 16 guests.

The secluded 3.19 acre property will be sold fully furnished.

It has a resort-style pool swim-up bar, an open-air stone bath, and an alfresco entertaining pavilion.

The home can accommodate 16 people, has a gourmet kitchen and butler’s pantry plus multiple living and dining zones, all with ocean views.

It is advertised as a beach getaway for $2950 per night.

The kitchen has a 7m stone island bench and a 7m wall of custom joinery, while the butler’s pantry has a 10m stone bench.

The super-sized infinity-edge pool features a pool cabana with retractable glass doors.

There’s even stabling for two horses, and a one bedroom caretaker’s apartment.

Meanwhile, billionaire Annie Cannon-Brookes has bought a prime 19ha beachfront residential site at Mission Beach for $4.5m.

Ms Cannon-Brookes purchased Dunk Island in 2022 for $23.65m.

Mission Beach is being compared to Byron Bay on the NSW north coast 20 years ago.

According to Core Logic, an entity known as Green Seaweed 1 Pty Ltd, the same company through which Cannon-Brookes purchased Dunk Island, bought the 103 Nonda St, Mission Beach, site for $4.5m in May.
