It is understood the Brothers player and another spectator who was involved in the off-field incident were kicked out from Brothers arena.

A month on since the incident, the Queensland Rugby League has handed down the ban.

Brothers football operations Tim Rumford said the club was working with the player who received the ban.

“He has shown a massive amount of remorse since the incident,” Rumford said.

“We are working with him as a club to ensure he gets the support he needs and to help him take the next steps to come back to the game.

“What happened doesn’t align with us as a club and he is aware of that.

“It was a split decision that he regrets and has continued to show his remorse.

“He has a few things he has to do to help him and we are working with him on that.”
