Large crowds hit stores across the city to grab a good deal, but it wasn't without a headache for some with vehicles packing car parks, even closing the Grand Central car park for a short time.
Toowoomba locals Maddie Gee and Georgia Little weren't afraid of the crowds and headed to Grand Central today to make the most of their Christmas money.
"We came down here at like 9.30am to have a look around really, but we found heaps of bargains and really got stuck into out vouchers," Ms Gee said.
"There's heaps of people here, but it's not too bad they have got a lot of staff on so it's ok."
Grand Central Silver Shop manager Melissa Arkinstall said they looked forward to the Boxing Day sales this year.
"It is incredibly loud, loads of people queuing up everywhere to do exchanges and to buy new gifts with all their Christmas money that they have just been given, so a bit of excitement in the air as well," she said.
Crowds weren't scared off at the Harvey Norman centre either, many walking away with big and small ticket items.
Harvey Norman electrical franchisee Cara Sherman said the day exceeded their expectations.
"Customers wait for the full year for the Boxing Day sale, so they come in and get genuine bargains," she said.
She said it was great to see so many consumers in the store that were getting genuine savings on items such as televisions, washing machines, air conditioners and furniture.
"It's really exciting times for customers and for us as well."
