Bringing the ‘taste of freedom’ to the people of North Queensland, outspoken MP Bob Katter has unveiled his own beer in collaboration with a Queensland brewery.
His lager, aptly named Patriot, has been created by Mr Katter and the Copperlode Brewery in Cairns, and is being sold as an all-Aussie classic lager for ‘proud Australians’.
“I’ve spent my life fighting for Australian industry, for local jobs and for the people who make this country tick,” Mr Katter said in a Facebook post.
“Patriot isn’t just any beer – it’s Australian made, NQ crafted and brewed with the same passion and fire that built this country.”
Mr Katter said the beer was more than just a beer, representing “a tribute to hard work, blood, sweat and tears”.
The beer is set to be launched on Friday night, with an event at the Cooperlode Brewery in Cairns complete with a ‘best-dressed Bob competition’ with the winner to take home free beers, as well as food trucks and the chance to taste the new creation.
“So grab your Akubra, and let’s celebrate fun, freedom and the Australian way”, Mr Katter said.
It’s not the first time Bob Katter-themed products have been available, with t-shirts available on the Katter’s Australian Party online store featuring some of Mr Katter’s most iconic quotes including ‘let there be a thousand blossoms bloom’ and “I ain’t spending any time on it”.
