'Black magic' cropping property going to auction this month

PRIME cropping country outside the Darling Downs town of Pittsworth will go to auction later this month.

'Wainwrights', located about 19km south of Pittsworth, takes in 276.4ha of deep, black, self-mulching clay soils on what was all originally river red gum country.

About 246.9ha are currently farmed.

The property features a new groundwater allocation of 110ML (after buy back), and irrigation bore 60 metres deep equipped with electric submersible pump, which supplies water to four centre pivot circles - three that cover 30ha full circle, and another that covers a 15ha half cicle. 

Improvements to the property include a 14x12m machinery shed, 100 tonne above ground silo, and a second, older silo.  

The auction will be held at the Picnic Point Function Rooms, 164 Tourist  Rd, Toowoomba, on Friday, August 31, at 11am.
