AFTER just two and a half months on the market and more than 40 groups through its doors, the award-winning home at 12 Thorley Ct, Middle Ridge, has sold.
While the sale price has not been disclosed, McGrath Real Estate Toowoomba principal Toby Sandell said it had set a record for Middle Ridge for non-acreage property.
The last listed sale price for the property was offers over $1.45 million.
The prestigious home was built by Mark Winter Constructions in 2016 as an example of what the local builder could achieve.
Mr Sandell it was "a very rare" home, and one of the top residences he'd taken to market since he had entered the real estate industry in 2003.
"Anything from the architecture to Mark's execution of the build, the fact it's so unusual and such a high quality finish … and to execute the sales campaign and with the response we've had, it was a treat," he said.
The home at 12 Thorley Ct is Mr Winter's salute to the modernist architectural style that originated in California in the '40s and '50s.
The iconic Kaufmann house in Palm Springs, designed by the man considered to be one of the fathers of modernism - American architect Richard Neutra - was the main inspiration.
The four bedroom, two bathroom home won the regional and state Master Builders award for best individual home in 2016, as well as the regional award for best residential kitchen.
Mr Sandell said the sale was a good example of the fact that properties in the Toowoomba market were transacting and it should give both buyers and sellers confidence.
