But it can be so expensive to pay or activities and dine out with your children.

These winter school holidays restaurants and stores at Grand Central are making it easier for parents, offering free food, half priced hair cuts and special gaming deals.

If you want to enjoy some time with your children while out and about without breaking the bank here are six options:

The Bavarian

Kids under 12 eat free every day throughout winter at The Bavarian.

This special dining deal allows one child under 12 to eat for free from the kids' menu with one full-price adult meal between 11am and 3pm, until Friday, August 31.

The kids' menu features mac and cheese balls, chicken schnitzels, a hot dog, grilled chicken wrap, grilled cheese sandwich and a cheese burger served with a choice of mash or fries.

A classic selection of haus-made gelato is also available in a trio of flavours, chocolate crumble, vanilla and strawberry.

There will also be a bubbly entertainer to treat the kids to free face painting every Sunday from 11am to 3pm.

Betty's Burgers

Betty's Burgers has introduced Family Nights.

The restaurant will reward its little guests with a free kid's burger with every adult meal purchased.

It will run throughout the month of July and will be available Monday to Friday after 3pm.

Vapiano

If it is Italian food you are after, your young ones will receive one complimentary kids meal with any full-priced pizza or pasta.

It is available until Friday, July 13 from 11am to 5pm.

Kids meals are for those under 14 years.

Tommy Gun's Barbershop

Tommy Gun's is offering a half price haircut for the little dudes.

If dad comes into the barbershop for a service they will receive half price off the 'soon to be man classic' or 'soon to be man original' haircut.

It is available until Tuesday, July 31.

It is for children aged up to 11 years old.

Passiontree Velvet's high tea.

If you are looking for something just a little bit fancy, then Passiontree Velvet has a great deal for your young ones.

They can experience a high tea with you.

It's Teddy Bears Picnic deal offers kids ham sandwiches and a strawberry macaroon paired with either juice or babyccino for $9.95.

iPlay

iPlay is the city's newest gaming centre.

It has been packed with children these school holidays.

There is a deal going at the moment that when you buy two time packs, you get the third free.

Family packs are not included in the deal and time packs are for immediate play and cannot be booked or pre purchased.
