$500m shopping centre 365 days from opening

THE Grand Central redevelopment in Toowoomba is a year from finishing with developers aiming to have it open for the 2016 Carnival of Flowers.

A SHOPPER'S paradise in Toowoomba is just one year away.

Investment company QIC is currently linking Grand Central and the former Gardentown Shopping Centre, doubling the size of the major CBD retail centre.

Shoppers could be browsing through the $500m redeveloped shopping centre during the Carnival of Flowers of next year.

Grand Central manager Shaine Beveridge told an Infrastructure and Energy Summit luncheon last year that the centre would be open by the 2016 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
